Summer Smash (full ABV)
8-12 Fresh basil leaves
1 Large (or 2-3 small) juicy peach
2 oz. Artisan gin (like Griffo)
1 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
½ oz. Simple syrup
Tear basil and chop peaches, then add with simple syrup and lemon juice to cocktail shaker. Muddle until well mixed. Add gin and continue to muddle. Add a measure of ice, cover and shake until frothy in cold. Strain into rocks glass with ice OR a vintage coup-style glass. Garnish with basil leaf and/or edible flower.
For lower ABV version – substitute chardonnay for the gin. Prepare the same way.
For Zero proof version – Increase simple syrup to 1 oz. Prepare the same way. Pour into rocks glass with ice and top with lemon sparkling water.
