Specialty Shows

The Krush has some of the best specialty programming anywhere! From Blues to Rockabilly, Jazz to Folk, the Krush has it all.

Blues with Bowker - Bill Bowker - Sunday Evenings 7-10pm

Bill Bowker
One of the best Blues shows on the radio! Anywhere! That is why it's lasted so long. A true Sonoma County tradition.  Bill actually started the whole thing back in L.A. in 75,  brought it with him to KVRE in the 80's, and finally to it's home the Krush.  3 hours every Sunday night spanning the entire spectrum of this musical piece of American culture called the Blues

Uncorked - Bob Sala – 8-11am Sunday

Bob Sala
The slow day of the week.  At least it should be!  Morning time especially deserves a certain amount of relaxation. And the soundtrack that accompanies should be no different.  Acoustic Music is what's called for; Folk, Singer-Songwriters, Bluegrass, Old Timey. Many folks have hosted the Uncorked on Sunday mornings throughout the years,  but now it just feels like Sala and the show were meant to be together.

Krush Americana - Bill Bowker - Monday Evenings 7-10pm

Nate Matthews
Remember the Krush on 98.7 ?  Well that's when Bowker started this popular program. A nice blend of twang, Alt-country, classic country and more. Real Music!

Real Jazz - Bob Sala - Wednesdays 7-9pm

Nate Matthews

Well some time ago, we decided that since those that call themselves Jazz stations out there won't play the real stuff,  the Krush will have to deliver, at least for a couple hours each week,  some of the best music ever written, performed and recorded. Sala offers the perfect delivery; be-bop, cool, improvisational. Monk to Miles,  Pastorius to Trane.

Rockabilly Roadhouse - Dave Gross – Saturday Mornings 10-11am

Dave Gross was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He grew up with stacks of 45s, a turntable, microphone and a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Things haven’t been the same since!  After a childhood making adventurous super 8 movies, playing drums, and acting (he played the lead role of Dracula in his senior play), Dave got his start at a college radio station, showcasing the San Francisco music sound. After college he moved way out west to the Bay Area and did voiceovers, comedy, and produced and hosted his own television show “Free Admission: The Rock & Roll Trivia Game Show.” During the 90s, Dave managed bands, produced albums and later earned an RIAA-certified gold record for his work with the Grateful Dead on their box set, “So Many Roads (1965-1995).” He’s a voting member of the Recording Academy and a writing member of ASCAP and publishes a weekly music industry newsletter called Punmaster’s MusicWire.  In 2002, he moved to Sonoma County and joined the Krush. His weekly radio show called Big Dave’s Rockabilly Roadhouse, is an hour of high-octane roots music, heard weekly on the Krush at 10am. Guaranteed to kick start your weekend!
